Much information about our campaigning achievements can be found on the news section of our web site. We have built up an excellent working relationship with the BMA, GMC, BDA, GDC and the Department of Health. We are also continuing to develop our working relationships with many other organisation. GLADD is now often consulted on a great many issues of relevance to lesbian, gay and bisexual doctors, dentists, medical students and dental students. A summary presentation of our achievements was given at our tenth Members Annual Meeting.
Since our formation in 1995 our membership has continued to grow and we now have more than 500 members from all parts of the UK (and a few members from abroad) from all specialties of medicine and dentistry.
Our meetings provide an important opportunity for members to meet up informally. Whereas these used to be held virtually in secret in members' homes, they are now held in major venues. We have been lucky enough to have had many prominent guest speakers over the years all of whom have been very supportive of the work of GLADD. Although many meetings are held in London we try to have some national meetings each year around the UK and we also have some very active regional groups who meet up informally.
